Historic Trees of Mobile and the Gulf Coast
Mobile's trees are part of the region's history. This growing collection documents living monuments, neighborhood landmarks, storm recovery, cultural memory, and the arboricultural work required to preserve them.
Help find the next remarkable tree.
A tree does not have to hold an official designation to matter. The Arborist is seeking large, historic, unusual, resilient, and locally meaningful trees throughout Mobile and surrounding Gulf Coast communities.

Connected to local history or community memory
Unusual for the Mobile or Gulf Coast area
An outstanding example of its species
A survivor of hurricanes, development, or major change
At risk of being lost or deserving greater recognition
Nominate a Tree
Share a photograph, location, and anything you know about the tree's history or community significance. Selected trees may be researched, measured, photographed, and featured on this website and The Arborist's social media channels.
Submitting a tree does not grant permission to enter private property. Authorization will be obtained before any site visit.
Exact residential addresses will not be published without the property owner's permission. A submission does not guarantee that a tree will be visited or featured.
